New iPod touch, no GPS?

iPod Touch curvedI for one was really hoping for GPS in the new iPod Touch, but it seems that didn’t make Apple’s list of necessary updates. Actually, not a whole lot has changed since the device’s first generation.

What did make the update list was a thinner case, yes, thinner. Just when you thought the iPod touch was anorexic, they make it thinner! And somehow they managed to fit a speaker in there, with volume controls. Still no mic though. It’s curved, like its brother the iPhone 3G.

Also added to its feature list is Nike+ support! That’s a nifty feature. And of course, the new Genius feature that Apple is going to force you to love.

Battery life clocks in at 36 hours for music, and 6 hours for video. It comes in three flavors 8Gb for $229, 16Gb for $299 and 32 GB for $399. And you don’t have to wait, they are available today!

And let’s not forget about what’s next… Firmware Update 2.1! Stay tuned…
